@LennySims2 Did you add any mods or custom content after the game worked, and if so, does it help to remove them? Even if you'd rather not play that way, it's a useful test.
Please also let me know what antivirus you use as well as whether OneDrive is running on this computer.

Before I started the game for the first time, I added three free add-ons (and the game worked, that's the weird part). Also, I have a McAfee antivirus and the Microsoft Defender Antivirus. How does one uninstall packs on the EA app or Steam?
- 2 years ago@LennySims2 Sorry I forgot to add, I think OneDrive is also on my computer.

@LennySims2 Try pausing OneDrive syncing, which you can do by right-clicking the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
If that doesn't help, temporarily disable McAfee's real-time scanning:

and repair the game: open your EA App game library, click Sims 4, and select Manage > Repair. Try to play before reenabling McAfee. If it works, set exceptions for TS4_x64.exe and EADesktop.exe.
As long as you're not doing anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe, but remember to reenable McAfee when you're done.
