EAapp seems to mess up my computer booting, is steam a safe replace option?

Hey hi,

A few weeks ago I felt like playing ts4 again with the new expansion comming out. I found out I sadly couldn't use origins anymore and had to install teh EAapp.

After installing the EAapp my computer did not boot anymore. Tried several things and eventually had to reinstall my windows completly.

So far all the sings pointed out that it had something to do with the EAapp, since it was the only thing that chagned on my computer (for a comparrison I have the exact same gaming computer as my partner has, same updates ect ect. The only diffrence was me downloading the EAapp).

Now since that situation I'm very afraid to reinstall the EAapp (since having a 3000 euro computer failing to boot up isn't a fun feeling).

I was wondering if using the steam download is a more safe and stable launcher for ts4 and secondly if it is will all my gamepacks for ts4 that I bought thru my original origin account be on there?

Installing a simple App will have absolutely no influence on your computers ability to boot. Good that reinstalling Windows seems to have solved that problem. If you should experience further problems in this area I recommend that you post in a Windows group they will be more likely to be able to help regarding Windows. Installing Steam will not help any as it is not a replacement for the EA App.

  • Okay I have consulted the windows messenger bords before posting. Narrowing down the problem it could only point to the EAapp. Don't think thats a very strange thing to do if the only thing that had changed on a computer was that app. Also have read that I'm not the only one experiencing quite invasive effects from just a simple app, so that's why I posted it here.

Thank you for informing me about steam not being able to actually be used as a launcher and that I will still be redirected to the EAapp (and that the EAapp couldn't be that invasive that it would block my windowsuser boot up after I tried logging into it). Just to be safe (becuase again so far everything still pointed to the eaapp) guess that means no sims anymore for me.
