Installing a simple App will have absolutely no influence on your computers ability to boot. Good that reinstalling Windows seems to have solved that problem. If you should experience further problems in this area I recommend that you post in a Windows group they will be more likely to be able to help regarding Windows. Installing Steam will not help any as it is not a replacement for the EA App.
Okay I have consulted the windows messenger bords before posting. Narrowing down the problem it could only point to the EAapp. Don't think thats a very strange thing to do if the only thing that had changed on a computer was that app. Also have read that I'm not the only one experiencing quite invasive effects from just a simple app, so that's why I posted it here.
Thank you for informing me about steam not being able to actually be used as a launcher and that I will still be redirected to the EAapp (and that the EAapp couldn't be that invasive that it would block my windowsuser boot up after I tried logging into it). Just to be safe (becuase again so far everything still pointed to the eaapp) guess that means no sims anymore for me.

If you post any errors you see after installing the EA App we can help with that.
