Has anyone been able to fix this? Is a fix in the works? I bought the game and within 6 hours, had this glitch. I didnt save and turn it off for it to happen, nor did I switch active households. I did go visit a friend while my pet was gone and got this anyway.

did you try if you can maybe delete the pet through the household manager ?
Not sure if this is still helpful, but just in case...it seems this really is linked to the missing pet. I sometimes save my game as a "new save" in case there are issues. The last two saves, where the pet is missing, are giving me that error. The third last save I made, where the dog was still there, works.
