I see. Do you have the "Hide Reported Content" box checked? If so, do you still see this issue when the box is unchecked?
In the game... click on Game Options. Choose Other. Is the Online Features Access checked? Is the Online Notifications checked?
Those are the things I would look at. 🙂

Can you send over screenshot(s) of what you see in-game when attempting to search in the Gallery? Also, if you can send over the name(s) of the items that you're looking for, that may be helpful also.
I'll use my own creation as an example. First shown is when I'm looking at my catalog in the gallery. I searched for most popular households. It brings up one with 17 downloads. But, if I go to the home tab and find where someone has downloaded my featured creation and click on it I can see it. As you can see by the third pic it should have placed this first in my catalog search if it was working correctly. It is the same for any creator that I try to find their featured creations in-game. It works fine via the gallery website or even my iPhone app.
