game compleetly restarted
just got on sims 4 again after a fair while not playing.
i have put almost 450 hrs into the game, i have 1 save where i have been collecting all the collectables, maxing skills and going up job trees. i have quite a few other saves as well.
i got all the rewards for the
june 4th Happy at Home Login Event Rewards which means the longest its been has been about july 4th since i've been on the game as it was a 4 week run of getting the rewards for the game.
everything is gone! all neighborhoods, all businesses, all sims and save files EVERYTHING! including the event rewards and all previous event rewards.
i have tried checking one drive but i turned that off a while ago and dont think its that. i've checked the 2 places i could find sim save folders, i've created a new game to figure out where its saved at and the folder is empty beside the new save which is called Slot_00000003 so it means the pc thinks theres a 1 and 2? i guess.
i want to cry. (may be in part hormones from pregnancy but still) this is my relaxation game to sooth and i've been working so hard to achieve so much in the game. I've going through the formes to find any answer to this i can. i dont even remember everything i've done in the past 4 hours to try to fix it. if you have any ideas please let me know! i want my save file back! i want my event rewards back! i want all my hard work back! i know its a long shot but any and all suggestions are appreciated!
@Theenalove I'm sorry to hear your save is gone, and unfortunately there's nowhere else to look. You're right that it would only be one save slot (plus backups) if everything was in the single world; I wasn't sure from your description whether you had multiple saves or just multiple copies of the one save.
I don't really know why this happens, other than OneDrive error, so all I can suggest to people is they keep OneDrive away from their Sims 4 data if at all possible, and keep separate backups either on an external drive or another cloud storage service (Google Drive for example) that they manage on their own. Trusting Sims 4 and OneDrive to keep user data safe is always a dicey proposition.
