Game Completely Unplayable after 9/18/2024 Update

So following todays update, I cannot play my game. According to Better Exceptions by TwistedMexi, a critical error was logged, but many minutes it was not able to produce the report which usually takes a max of 3 minutes. This using "Resume" from the main menu. Next I tried just entering the save through the "Load Game" option. I could enter Willow Creek, but not the house that "Resume" would take me to. I also could not enter a house from a previous generation in the same save.

I was unable to exit the game so I had to use task manager to end task. I couldn't restart the game from the EA App without restarting my PC.

Next, I removed all mods from the game and attempted to enter the game. I was not able to enter my most recently played save, or the one previously.

Next, I decided to disable all DLC and enter a base game only save. I was able to enter this save.

So I decided to enable only Expansion Packs (of which I have all) and was able to enter this previously base game only save. I repeated this for Game Packs, Stuff Packs and Kits. Each time I was able to enter my most recently played house in this base game only save.

Again, at this point all mods have been removed. I have also repaired the game since the update.

Finally, I decided to try to enter my most recently played house with all DLC disabled, but unable to do so. Again, it just stays on a loading screen without ever loading. And again, I could only shut down through task manager.

So currently with all mods removed and all DLC enabled I get this error code upon using the Resume button from the main menu:

Since this has become a collection thread, with many different problems and even more causes, I'll lock it here.

For anyone who encounters infinite loading on a particular lot or set of lots, please remove any lot traits or challenges, especially Off the Grid. For OtG in particular, please post in this master bug thread:

Update. Deleted localthumbcache and repaired. Didn't work.

Currently reinstalling. Estimated time 17 hours.

@VioletKitty411 and @posherlockian5 If you have any files in ConfigOverride, please remove them.

If that doesn't help, please try loading a different household within the same save, preferably one you haven't played before now. Let me know whether it works.

@puzzlezaddict I did try another household in the most recently played save, but hadn't tried a completely unplayed one. Currently reinstalling so I will let you know after that. Thank you for the advice.

@puzzlezaddictI don't know that loading a different household will make a difference. For my part, I even tried starting a brand new save, and it just got stuck on the loading screen. And I did not have anything in the ConfigOverride folder.

@VioletKitty411 I'll be around whenever you're able to test again.

@posherlockian5 As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Having/had? the same issue. I could load a save, but only for a sim not on my home lot. Home lot was stuck loading and I had to restart my laptop completely just to leave the game. I reverted back to DX9 and tried again. It crashed the first time I attempted to load the game, but the second time I was successfully able to load my save on that lot. Playing in live mode a bit to see if it crashes again.

@VioletKitty411 I was having the exact same problem...until I switched the graphics back to DX9. Anyone with an AMD or NVIDIA Graphics card was automatically swapped to DX11, but there's an option in the Graphics setting to change it back. It took a little longer than usual to load in, but it successfully loaded in DX9.

@Moosesmuggler I will see if I need to do that after I finish reinstalling. It's very very slow. Thanks for the idea.

Since the last update of 18th september, my game is crashing and it closes after 10 min of playing. I don't use any mods or cc. Is anyone having this issue?
