Game crashes on launch

Hello,

So my game worked fine yesterday after I updated it.  I tried playing today and it crashes upon launch.  I repaired my game in EA, removed entire mods folder, deleted cache files, and updated my graphics card.  

Any ideas on why?

  • @gingo728  A couple of the crashes in your dxdiag are from the EA App, so please uninstall the App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine).  Use the Intensive scanning method when asked, restart your computer, and download a fresh copy of the App installer.

    If this doesn't help, try playing while your computer is offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

    If that doesn't help either, please try a new save, still while offline.

    Hi! First of all, thank you SO much for your reply. I have tried the steps you suggested. I am still getting the crash every time I launch the game. 

    I would try the new save thing, but I actually can’t even get to the main menu of the game. I can’t get in far enough to start a new save. Unless you mean to take the saves out of the sims 4 folder on the computer?

    EDIT:  I took all the saves out of the folder in my sims 4 documents folder and my game launched. I take this to mean my save file was corrupted. Thank you so much for helping me troubleshoot! Solved!

    @gingo728  I'm glad to hear that helped, but it would be pretty unusual for all your saves to be corrupt.  So I'd suggest trying one or a few of them to see whether they're salvageable.  Hopefully at least some are.
