Game crashes on splash screen after recent update

So apparently there was an update recently for Sims 4? My sims 4 automatically updated, even though I don't have Seasons expansion nor Get Famous yet. Noticed now however, the game gets to the "EA" s...

While this is indeed solved, it might matter: In the midst of this thread I got Seasons & Get Famous, it honestly almost did make it at one point. Gave repair a try, so maybe it was related somehow to one...
