Solved

Game crashes randomly with no mods or CC.

Downloaded the sims for the first time in over a year and now my game keeps freezing and then crashing randomly while I play, I have no mods or cc installed so I have no idea what's causing these crashes.

  • coestar15  Two of these are generic access violations again (c0000005), but the python37_x64.dll error points to a relatively common issue on high-end Intel processors like yours.  The motherboard sometimes overclocks the CPU to an unstable degree, and the result is this kind of crash.  This problem can also cause access violations.

So please update the BIOS for your board.  The manufacturers have been rolling out fixes for the instability issue, although not all fixes actually fix the problem, and not all boards have received an update.  I believe this is your model, but double-check before trying to install this particular BIOS.  Your current version is F6, so it's a few months out of date.

If this alone doesn't help, boot into BIOS and disable CPU Turbo Boost, which will be somewhere under Advanced settings.

puzzlezaddict  after disabling turbo boost i played for a few hours with no crashes. i will play for the next few days and see if it really is fixed. i'll update what happens and mark it as the solution if it works but thank you for your help so far.
