Game crashes when quiting game
Hi there,
I have noticed that lately my game crashes when I quit. It does not happen all the time, and always after I've saved and pressed the 'quit to desktop' button in the menu.
I didn't lose...

No one around today though but I I'll tag @SimGuruNick to see if he can give us any indication what your crashes could be.

EA Staff (Retired)@WhiteLotussX Looking at your lastCrash info, I am very familiar with this crash, it's one of the top crashes experienced by players on 64-bit PC. Our devs are working on it, but QA has never reproduced it, so your DxDiag could prove to be extremely useful. Thank you so much for that, along with all the info, it's incredibly appreciated! 🙂
How often would you say it occurs for you, after saving and using the "Quit to Desktop" button, as you said? Do you only see it after playing a particular save, or does this occur after playing any save and/or household?
Also, could you potentially share your Options.ini file (available in the TS4 folder in Documents) with me? It'll allow me to replicate some of your settings, to hopefully allow me to reproduce it.

Oh, I can also confirm that this crash is not CC-related, I've seen many logs of it happening for users with 0 mods/CC.
@SimGuruNick Thank you for your reply. It is good to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this.
I noticed the game crashing after quitting several saves, not only a specific one. Yesterday the game crashed once, after which I posted it on this forum. On Saturday, I also had one crash. I don't have much time to play during weekdays, so I don't know if there is a patern on when it crashes.
I'll share the options.ini file with you when I get home.
I couldn't upload the Options.ini file. It says it has an unsupported extension type, so I copied the contents of the file and put them in a standard text file.

Can you run me through the exact keys you press when you quit your game, and experience this crash?
Like do you click on the red X in the upper-right corner of your screen and select the Save and Exit button? Or Exit button? Or do you use the Esc key to bring up the menu, instead of clicking the X in the corner?
Any clues you have may be useful, thanks again so much for the help!
