SilverJanSims Sorry for the late reply. Do you still need help? If so, please let me know whether this happens in a new save as well, and whether only your existing builds are affected or you can't place anything at all on these lots. It's possible this save you're working with is corrupt in some way or that your builds are, so let me know what you find.

Yes, this is still happening. I tried after the last patch release to add some more lots to Newcrest in my newest save. I usually access the lots before placing the builds but lately when trying to access Sandy Run and other lots in that section of Newcrest the game just says 'A serious error has occurred and has stopped working' and suggests to restart the game but it still happens after that. A few weeks ago I was able to place a house one and then a household from the gallery in it and then saved it before trying another lot. I also haven't been able to place the finished lot for one of the households I saved before getting my new laptop.
Before getting my new laptop, I wasn't able to share the finished lots that I had for some of my main households so that I wouldn't have to rebuild them. Was able to share many of the rooms and households though. With these ongoing issues, I decided to go back to playing Sims 3 while these issues are being or hopefully being fixed. Will try again with the next patch or if another solution comes up.
The save that I'm using is basically brand new with just one household in the game that I put in the Tomarang Blues house lot from my gallery that had been shared when I first built it. Guess that's why I should have saved my lot builds in progress instead of waiting until they were finished as one never knows when something will happen that will prevent saving them.
