Game crashing while loading save file
Hi my bf has been having an issue with loading his 1 and only save that he's very attached to. It started crashing upon loading the save out of nowhere. He uses no cc or mods at all. We tried moving his sims 4 folder to desktop from documents/electronicarts but it removes the save file he's trying to load so while it fixes the crashing issue, technically, it just isn't really solving the problem.
He's running windows 10 on an acer helios predator I believe if that helps at all.
@M3WPHISTO Moving the Sims 4 user folder to the desktop forces the game to create a new folder with no content, so the save wouldn't be present. But you can copy the save file, just the file itself, from the old folder to the new one, and it should show up. Please try this and see whether the save loads.
If it does, great, you can transfer the contents of the Mods (minus resource.cfg) and Tray folders from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one as well. Be sure to test again though, in case the save doesn't load again. In that case, the culprit would likely be an outdated mod, and you'd need to sort through them to figure out which one.
If the save doesn't load in the new Sims 4 folder, try recovering a backup. Use the manual method here:
