Game crashing

I tried posting but it got removed and I do not know why...

So I'm trying again: Game crashing: error 0xc0000005 (memory access violation)

DX11 crashes: Event Viewer shows faulting module python37_x64.dll

DX9 crashes: Event Viewer shows faulting module ntdll.dll

What I've tried:

Removed all mods/cleared cache/repaired game
Fresh EA folder and full reinstall of the game
Updated BIOS, chipset, MEI, GPU, and audio drivers (all current)
Disabled Turbo Boost via Windows power plan
Limited CPU affinity to P-cores only (via Process Lasso)
Tested both DX11 and DX9 — both crash
Crashes occur regardless of settings (windowed/borderless/fullscreen)

Here is what I originally posted if it helps (I shortened it a little bit):

Hello, I am writing here because I am at a loss of what to do now, with my constant crashing.

I have gotten a new laptop, it's very good and I've had no issues with anything but the sims 4. My current issue with this game is constant, random crashes.
The crashes always generate the same crash report in event viewer where it cites that the crash is a memory access violation (0xc0000005) and the faulting module (or whatever it is called, sorry I'm translating since my system is in my native language) is python37_x64.dll.

    When do the crashes occur:
In main menu (idling); during loading; shortly after loading; a few minutes into gameplay; sometimes I'm able to play for a few hours before it crashes

What have I tried to do to troubleshoot:
    1. I have tried adding my graphics card to the list (it didn't recognize it) - still crashing
    2. Removed all mods and cleared cache - crashes on new, clean save
    3. Deleted the EA-Sims folder entirely and let the game generate a new one - still crashing
    4. Lowered my settings + playing in windowed borderless - still crashing
    5. Tried both Dx11 and Dx9 - Dx11 lets me play longer, Dx9 crashes without even generating a crash report and cites ntdll.dll as the faulting module.
    6. Updated/reinstalled all my drivers to make sure they were up to date and functional (this is what you suggested me to do just now, but I've already done it)
    7.  I saw some other forum threads mentioning that my cpu could be overclocking automatically, so I checked BIOS and made sure I have none of these settings - I do not. I have tried setting up a power plan limiting the natural intel turbo boost - still crashing. Also my BIOS and chipset drivers are all the newest version possible.
    8. Used process lasso to set my cpu affinity and priority to:

Cores: 0,1,2,3,4,5 (normal priority) - could play for a few hours, then crashed, afterwards crashed everytime I turned the game on until I restarted laptop.
Cores: 0,1,2,3,4,5 (high priority) - same result
Cores: 0,1,2,3, (high priority) - same result
Cores: 0,2,4,6 (high priority) - same result

    9. Reinstalled the entire game and used all the settings above (I also repaired it right at the start I forgot to mention that) - still crashing

It sometimes works for an hour or two, then crashes once and then keeps crashing until I restart my laptop and sometimes even the restart won't work.
Sometimes it just crashes when I turn it on and I cannot get it to work at all.

Hello, the forums deleted my previous post in which I summarized what I actually did to fix it in more detail. I am not getting any blue screens and they aren't logged in my event viewer either and I have already tried re-installing the drivers so they should be recent, so I am unsure of why they aren't showing as such....

  • RinRinRinNao  Thanks for the dxdiag, which lists a pile of BlueScreens.  Are these happening while you're playing Sims 4, and if not, when do they occur?

I do see one crash of a graphics driver, and given everything else you've tried so far, a reasonable next step is to clean-uninstall and reinstall both drivers.  Here's how:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

Please use the newest drivers Asus provides for your laptop, at least for now:

    https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-strix/rog-strix-g18-2024/helpdesk_download/

The Nvidia driver is a bit old, but it's easy to update to a newer driver if necessary.

The proper order of operations is uninstall the Nvidia driver > uninstall the Intel driver > restart > reinstall the Intel driver > restart > reinstall the Nvidia driver > restart, all while your computer is offline.
