Multiple Issues

Haven't played in years because my hard drive was outdated. Finally updated from a hard drive to an SSD, added more RAM, updated to Windows 11, etc. Everything on my computer is running fine. Sims, on the other hand, is the only thing that is not.

My game loads fine, lets me use CAS fine, moving between worlds is no issue. I do not have any mods installed. I do not have any CC as well. I have a myriad of expansion packs installed. I haven't been able to play long enough to determine if there is any other issues but I am almost confident there will be.

Then I alternate between the game freezing/screen turning blue or white when trying to load lots and not being able to click anything besides choosing to exit the game/forcing myself out of the game or gives me issues when in Build Mode. I have no double head arrow for foundations or roofs and cannot change their height, icons for showing what I'm doing (i.e Build room icon) pop up in multiples as move my cursor over the lot. Nothing changes or appears until I select a different building option, tool the cursor, etc, something different from what I currently have selected. Sometimes stuff does not appear until I move the camera to a different angle.

I am not sure if this is lag, or a bug.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired it from inside EA app. I moved the Sims 4 folder out of the EA Folder in my Documents folder where the game loads and restarted the game. I've removed the mods folder out, deleted the localcache file. Trying the window full screen option has helped a bit but after a couple of tries to fix the other issues seems to have resolved this, but I have the issues mentioned above in either modes now. My biggest issue is lacking features used for building, because this is a big focus for me on gameplay.

I am not savvy enough on the software side of things to check anything on my own without guidance and all the recommended options aren't working or are outdated forums (5-6 years ago.) The game ran with 0 of these issues on my outdated hard drive, just slower. Any recommendations or anyone else run into this issue?

  • Obscenesins  Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

I have attached some screenshots as well to show some of the issues the game is having.

  • Obscenesins  The issue is obvious from your dxdiag: your laptop doesn't have a graphics driver installed and is instead using the basic driver, which is highly inefficient for gaming.  So please reinstall the proper driver.  Go here:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/laptops

Enter your serial number, choose your OS (just Windows 11 is fine) if prompted, click All Drivers, expand Driver-Graphics, and download the newest Intel driver by version number.  The first number matters most, e.g. 32 is newer than 31; after that, the last four numbers matter.

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart afterwards and before trying to play.

If you see the same on-screen symptoms, or HP somehow doesn't offer a driver for your laptop at all, try the newest driver from Intel:

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/137977/intel-core-i38130u-processor-4m-cache-up-to-3-40-ghz/downloads.html

Here's how to get around a potential incompatible driver message (the driver is compatible, but HP software sometimes blocks drivers not provided by HP):
