Game freezes when I go to manage world

I’m having problems with my save file. After going into the Manage Worlds menu once or twice, my game freezes. Sometimes I’m lucky and can open it about five times, but it always ends up freezing eventually. If I don’t save beforehand, I lose all my progress. I’ve already tried repairing the game, reinstalling it, starting a new save and clearing the cache basically every common fix I could find but nothing has worked so far. I never report bugs but this one makes the game unplayable.

  • Could you please provide the following information

    • Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do. Please pick a thread tag for that.
    • What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac, Playstation, XBox). Please pick a thread tag for that.
    • Do you have the issue on a specific save only or also if you start a new one for testing purposes ?

    Of course,

    • I am not using any mods at the moment they are the first things I took out to try and find the source.
    • the platform is PC.
    • It started happening in my save file I was working/playing on so I started a new one for testing purposes and it happened there too and every single new save I have started after reinstalling the game. the order of actions taken is : removed mods, repaired the game, started a new save for testing did not solve the problem, removed the game and all game files, reinstalled the game left the old files and mods out started a new save and it still does the same thing previously mentioned.

Thank you very much I will await a response from them. I appreciate you guys taking the time to look into this.

  • K1mmmy  Since it's a simple test, please try playing with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.  I'm not saying you need to play like this in general, only that it's a useful test.  If it helps, try keeping your computer online but putting the EA App in offline mode.

The Sims 4 errors in your dxdiag are somewhat generic but can be related to a bad graphics driver.  It's not conclusive, which is why playing offline is a better first test.  But if that doesn't help, please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver, as described here:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

Rather than using the newest driver from AMD, try 25.12.1 from December:

    https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/previous-drivers.html/graphics/radeon-rx/radeon-rx-7000-series/amd-radeon-rx-7800-xt.html

It's simple enough to update from there, whereas going backwards requires using DDU to remove the newer driver again.  If you'd prefer, you can start with the driver from August instead and update incrementally from there.  That driver is new enough to be compatible with Sims 4, and in fact it's somewhat widely used since it also supports older AMD GPUs.
