game has been "updating" through origin for over 24 hours now

I am very frustrated...  I bought Sims 4 and a brand new laptop 2 days ago.  I tried for hours to get the game to install yesterday and finally had to call someone from ea.  We finally got it to download and install but then it got to the "updating" part.  It has now been updating for over 24 hours and its only at 7%.  44.97 mb. It needs to get to 582.74 mb.

What is wrong with this???  I know its not my computer its brand spanking new and has 1 TB on it!!  Someone please help??  I have never had problems downloading games before.  We have high speed internet.  Thanks in advance!
