game immediately crashes at start-up, I have tried everything

game immediately crashes at starting screen

I have tried everything that was recommended by both this forum and the web and nothing has worked

I began with re-starting my computer, then I ran steam and EA as administrator, followed the directions online to fix any start-up problems

deleted and re-downloaded the sims twice, verified my steam files and it said nothing was wrong

tried to use the repair files feature on the EA app and could not find it, I looked up both "2024 version" and "after EA update" and nothing came up that matched the current interface,

deleted all of my mods and tested them one by one, absolutely no issues with the mods. and all of this started when I added a sim to an already existing household, saved. clicked what looked like an exit and realized it just re-entered a different create-a-sim file and then I exited this new file without saving (because it does not allow saving in create-a-sim) my game INSTANTLY crashed, when I say I tried everything, I mean I tried everything! at least everything that I knew how to try, and nothing has worked, please please help me!!

  • @skat3rlawd  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't or didn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
