Game is broken seemingly beyond repair HELP

My game started glitching after exiting build mode around a week ago.
BUYING furniture is fine, but as soon as i place a wall, window, etc. and then exit build/buy, the game is on pause and i can't do anything. I can't click on anything, can't unpause and can't save. The UI still shows up but I have to ctrl+alt+del and force quit the game.
I use mods and cc but I've already done the 50/50 method and none of them seem to be the issue. I've removed all my mods, cleared the cache and repaired the game in the EA app and I'm still having this issue. I'm running out of ideas, help please!

    chherub​  Is this the issue you're seeing?

    Can't make changes to build | EA Forums - 4976886

    If so, please use that master thread.

    If not, please try building on a different lot, one that is currently blank or has an EA-made house on it.  Build your own; don't download anything from the Gallery or reuse a lot from your Library.  Many previously-working builds have broken since the For Rent patch.
