Game just crashes...

Hello, not sure if it is the same issue as previously mentioned in the forum. Haven't played in a while and decided to open it today.

First try, when opening Sims 4, after the loading "Sims 4" screen, it just crashes. Then I did a repair on the EA app, still the same thing. With so much desperation, I uninstalled Sims 4 and wiped out everything related, even the saved game files. Still crashing. Btw, I don't use any mods.

Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you!

  • xVeradx  If you have any files in ConfigOverride, please delete them.

Otherwise, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Hit Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the camera (Insert Media) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
