@sylverwolf99135 Your dxdiag does list a few Windows errors that you'll want to clean up. Please run a couple of basic checks on your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
Before you go all the way to the nuclear option (resetting your laptop), try playing in a clean admin Windows account. If there's a permissions problem in your current account, particularly in the Documents folder or one of its subfolders, that could block Sims 4 from launching. But a new account won't have that issue since it would have its own freshly created Documents. Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't sync with any other services you normally use. You'll be able to sign into Origin and won't need to redownload anything.

@sylverwolf99135 So you've also installed Windows 11 now? Have you gone to HP's support site to download any new Windows 11-specific drivers? You can get there by clicking the link below and entering your laptop's serial number:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/laptops
If you're not sure whether you have a driver installed, you can use HP's auto-detect tool, or you can just download all the W11 drivers and run them. If one is already installed, either it'll install again with no harm done, or you'll get an error. You can skip the Nvidia graphics driver since the one you have installed is almost certainly newer than the one HP offers.
Additionally, what antivirus do you use?

yeah laptop updated overnight and i finished the updates when i got up and saw it. as for antivirus, pretty sure it's just the typical windows defender--i disabled it prior to updating to w11 but i'm going to double check that it is still disabled.
i think i have all the current drivers, but i'll run thru and install them anyway, like you said no harm done lol
i reinstalled origin & dled EA's app and tried getting ts4 thru the EA app but i'm just getting the exact same error as i have been. bah.
