Gifted Sims 4 Paranormal Activity Won't Download

OK so I was gifted Sims 4 Paranormal activity and I thought it would download in Origin just like when you buy it yourself and it didn't prompt me to do so ... so I found it where it says download I click the button nothing happens I have re-installed origin 3 times .... I think it might be on Origin's end not sure.... I have tried to DL It several times with the download button and it won't work and too it says I need a code which the person that gifted it to me never got a code in the email and we searched and it says you don't need a code it should work just like you bought it yourself and download under your game library.... I really need help please and thanks any suggestions are welcome ... oh also it will say its unrecognizable
