Glass roofs aren't working?

I can't get the new glass roofs to work. Whenever I place the roof, none of the light gets through (the room is entirely dark on the inside, even though the room is glass). I tried taking out all my mods/CC, but that didn't work, and I tried to set my graphics to the highest they could go, and that didn't help either. Does anyone know what to do?

Okay, thanks for the help. I was afraid you were going to say that. I cant upgrade my graphics drivers because it makes my game completely unplayable. (The new thermo-thingy that comes with it shuts my laptop down in minutes of playing The Sims)
I guess it is what it is for me. I appreciate the help though. Thanks very much. 🙂

Make sure that you don't place your laptop on surfaces that makes it overheat such as your Lap or on carpets. Consider buying a stand for it with ventilation.

Well, I was originally confused about what updating my graphics driver entailed but i'm a quick learner.
So, I updated my Graphics drivers, like you suggested.
And I still have the same result.
No light/shadows through the glass roof.
  • @disneyandcoMy settings are as high as possible. Have you tried building something in the manage world mode? On a lot that does not belong to your household. Because then it does not matter which time of the year you have. The light at noon is brighter. Cause after I realised it worked with the highest settings I went back to my household and suddenly it looked like it doesn't work, again. But it actually did. In spring, the light is not as bright and so it is darker inside. So you have to look very closely. Sometimes you only see the effects on one of the walls. If the light comes from the left side, you only see the effects on the opposite wall. I am sorry, I can't describe it as good as I want to because English isn't my first language.

Here you are two screenshots where you can see what I meen. It is morning in spring and you can only see the effects on the wall with the door. So, if you don't look closely it does look like they're not there at all.
