Glitchy Family tree and relationship.

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? Latest
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? base, all expansions except uni and island. others: tiny living, laundry and dine out.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? family tree, extra sims, empty box
What happens when the bug occurs? I used MCCC to edit relationship, between families, ALL new sims, mind you, no parents or sibling were deleted so nothing should be preventing editing relationship, hwoever, I only used MCCC because CAS would not let me assign relationships freely, for some reason.... relationship is broken.. So I edited, finished, saved and quit the game. The next time I load it up again, my sim's father became her step father and her father is an empty box in the family tree !!! What is happening!! It has happened more than once.
What do you expect to see? I expect ea to improve family tree, allowing for more generations, more relationships. I also realized that if you deleted a family member, you can't just add them back in the game, I expected this to change?? Even though this is not the issue I was experiecing, but that would be a nice alternative to "saving sims and adding them as brand new sims from the library in order to edit relationship" which is broken...

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

    @NykoIaz Moving this to tech for troubleshooting as mods aren't supported by EA and editing relationships is limited for a reason without mods/cheats.

    Part of this also sounds like feedback suggestions from your part.

    I am bit unclear what you did though. What relationships did you change ? Do you have an example ?

    @crinrict I moved in a new family from gallery, husband and wife, and I moved in another family, supposed to be the female’s mother and father, but the game only let me set the man as father, but not the women as mother. So I had to use MCCC. but then the game decide that the female sim’s mother is her step mother instead of a biological one...

    @NykoIaz also, the game adds a empty grey box, linked to the father, supposed to be the female sim’s birth mother?

    ( In my original post I confused father and mother, but either way, my sims only has one parent linked to her, another “real parent” is grey out )

    I managed to fix it for now.. but I don’t see how this could be a mod problem instead of the game’s failure to recognize and process changes in relationships..

    @NykoIaz If the game doesn't let you set the relationship, there's usually a reason. Mods let you do almost anything the game wouldn't allow for whatever reasons so that can lead to unexpected results. If there's indeed an issue that you can't set relationships when you should, then I agree it's a bug but to find that out, I'd like to troubleshoot this in more details.

    What age groups were they ?

    Do you have links to the families you tried ?

    @crinrict Well, mother and father were at first adults, I aged them up in CAS, and the female is Bella Goth from the game.. I used the Bachelor family from the gallery, by a player named “b4soong” Don’t know how to link it, sorry.

    unfortunately that was many saves ago and I've managed to mod the problem away, and it hasn't come back since.  but here is almost how it looked like

    @NykoIaz that does look like there's some kind of confusion on relationships..

    I'll do some testing. Bit busy currently but I can try on the weekend
    1. You had a family that has father and mother that you had in your game (both adults)
