Help! Broken Start Menu

My game starts up but then the start menu is broken.  See attached Pic.  Black screen, buttons don't work, can't open saves or change settings.  See attached screen shot. 

Everything was fine until today.  My graphics card is up to date.  I have a very good gaming laptop that has always worked for the Sims 4 and still runs other games perfectly.

Please help.  I am a daily player.  I didn't see other people with this issue on the forum.

    Thanks for replying so quickly!  So your suggestion worked.  I then tried adding back in my saves and tray and I can now enter my saves.  Thank you!

    Tried reinstalling the whole game and repairing in EA.  Still happening.

    ALYXdotEXEA​  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

    If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
