help! my game is having issues!

long story short, I play the sims for like 2 minutes and everything seems fine, but then I notice the sims don't seem to be finishing their tasks...I pause, and the sims keep moving unless they were already still. the bottom says it's paused yet it isn't. I don't know where I should be posting about this but I am here now, so..any suggestions? I already pulled out mods and that didn't help at all. I try to save and the wheel thing keeps spinning forever, I literally left it for an hour once. the only way to "fix" the issue is use task manager to close it and then reopen the game and have it happen again.

any ideas?
