[HELP!!] The furniture in my lot isn't there when I load it!

Hello, fellow Simmers!

So I haven't loaded up a save since around May, since I haven't had the time or the want to play recently. The last time I saved, I just edited a huge lot and fixed it up nice to go with my sims' story. Everything was great, until today. I've been exiting the game without saving (today only,) because I got that stupid loading glitch that just takes you right back to the 'Which Neighborhood' screen, and I remembered I shouldn't save so it wouldn't get stuck.

I was a hardcore simmer back in the day, but I've forgotten how to do many of the fixes in my files that I used to be able to do. So I tried moving my most recent save to my desktop and restart my game, and my main family didn't even exist, which is way strange because I'd been playing them for months and saved many times since then. So I put it back and remembered that a couple of times, I fixed the glitch. If i could make it to build mode, that it usually breaks the screen glitch cycle, since it loads the house. And I did this on the huge lot I edited first and there was NO FURNITURE. And I mean seriously, only like one item was in there. All my CC items and EA items were gone. It isn't the cc because the EA furniture is gone too.

So I exited again and tried building in my sims' house. The house is completely empty. WTF? I think even the wallpaper and floors were gone too. Its just the architecture left. I hope I clicked on some weird thing in my settings to wonk my game up. I'm not even sure I removed the save file correctly, so I might've done that wrong too. I did put the save back though, so it's the same as it was since today.

If anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it SOO much!

TL;DR:  My game is glitched, so every time I try to enter build mode, the building is completely empty. This started because I got the bug where it looks like you're loading your household, but just takes you to the 'Which Neighborhood' screen every time. Thank you 🙂

This keep getting marked as spam for some reason (maybe because I edited it quickly?) Please help 🙂

Wow, since May? The thing is.. you can't 'bypass' updating you mods and cc, it's a must.. there's also the Sims 4 Studio which has batch fixes for you.

    .

But the spoilers below have the different steps you should take to fix your game.

The first step should be to remove all the cc and mods (to your desktop) until your game is fixed. Then click to 'repair game' then there are other things to try:

    Spoiler

There is a step by step here on Clearing Cache Files (you can also move it to the desktop instead of deleting if you want to be on the safe side).

Another idea for you is to to a Clean Boot of your pc.

     About the CC and Mods

I use 1000's of cc & mods, but keep them updated regularly, and set them up in different folders to sort when an issue arises such as Sims Game Update or adding a pack. (note, my game loads in a couple of minutes)  Fixes in the spoiler

    Spoiler

      • Apart from culling your folders one by one, or the  50/50 method, to narrow down the broken cc or mod, that is all you can do, (restarting and checking your game each time) you'll simply need to find the broken mod/cc it and remove it.

      • Mods & cc are well known to cause various in-game issues please check for updates to them / where you found them; do this also > after any sims update or adding a game pack,

      • I use Sims 4 Studio for batch fixes it solves a lot of problems in bulk (but not all.) It's also available for Mac.

      • Dimitry's Mod Conflict Detector at mod the sims is good too, (but only for Windows) as you may have accidentally downloaded some Sims 3 / 2 items is not always going to be an obvious thing.. (as to 'why' if you haven't yet even tried to 'use' a cc in game) It will detect duplicates and 'wrong game' cc.. and sorts it via highlighting in bright colors. But don't think of it as a sure-fire fix to find 'everything'

About the Game Saves: (if still experiencing problems after clean boot etc)

    Spoiler

You can go back to an earlier save, if you need to know how go to Carls Sims 4 Guide for directions on doing that and salvage from an earlier time before moving.

Let me know if you still have problems.

    Hope this helps, Sasha

Oh gosh! I'm so stupid! I never even checked to see if it was my cc because the loading screen thing was always a save problem for me, and this glitch has never happened to me!

Thank you so much! 🙂 :eahigh_file:

(It was my glitchy CC if I wasn't clear!)

Oh gosh! I never even checked my CC because in the past, the loading screen glitch was always a save problem for me, and I've never had this glitch ever! I'm not sorting through my CC to find the bad nugget in the bunch!

Thank you so much! 🙂 :eahigh_file:

  • I’m having this problem with the Which Neighborhood screen when I try to build on a lot and when I try to Play  but I don’t want to sort through all my CC and Mods...

    Hi @Faeriiie

So glad it helped sort your problem out!

I have 1000's of cc and mods, and it's never a problem to sort, update or cull... it's also a must if you want them in your game
