@MightyPatrik Please unplug your second monitor and restart your computer, then try again.
You can also force the game to open at a 2560x1440 resolution. Again in options.ini, search for resolutionheight and set it to 1440, then search for resolutionwidth and set it to 2560. If you run into the same error, please go back to options.ini and let me know whether the settings are still what you specified. Please check the fullscreen/windowed setting too, as in, let me know if it's reverted since you changed it.
Having the exact same issue, the Resolution one didn't work.
(Didn't try the other ones since it didn't work for the lad)
@AshkPunk If you haven't already tried forcing the game to launch in windowed mode, please do that now.
If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

The weirdest thing happened, it just got fixed on its own, after I shut down the PC yesterday.
The only thing I did was change my PC name while in the game. Maybe it has something to do with it, idk.
@AshkPunk That is... odd. What are the old and new PC names, and what process did you use to change it?
Can you maybe send an video how to do that? maybe it wil also work with mine
This is exactly how it happened: (Windows 11)
Power on the PC (after yesterday, not being able to play at all) > Run the Dxdiag (save it on desktop) > Launch Sims 4 from Steam (default settings) > Loading Screen > Alt + Tab (I open and notice in the Dxdiag.txt that I didn't change my PC name) > Right Click on Desktop (go to Personalize and then the System from the side menu) > Change the System Product Name (From Default to Punk) > Go back to the game > Fixed now.
It was probably because of the system shutdown; You can try and delete the Doc files and Shut Down the PC and see if it works.
