Game wont load

I open the EA app on my pc, I click play, I get the box come up that says "preparing game" then nothing.

I cannot re-click play because it's greyed out as if the game is already running. The sims4 game also shows up on my task manager like its there but not there. I did then try clicking the shortcut to the game that is on my desk top, I then got the pop-up telling me the game was already running, so where is it hiding?

I have played the game since the most recent update, and it was fine so I don't think It's that, I haven't changed anything or downloaded anything, I've tried restarting the app and my pc, drivers are all up to date. I tried being patient, clicking it just the once and seeing if it was just being crazy slow to load, but an hour later, still nothing.

Any ideas?

    Nicisoxx​  When the game doesn't launch, please restart your computer before trying again.

    As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

    If you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
