How Do I Get Old Version of Game Back?
I was saving issues with my Sims 4 Cats and Dogs crashing when traveling to different worlds, so I looked it up online and one thing suggested moving Sims 4 file to my desktop. When I took it out of the Electronic Arts folder and brought it to my desktop, a completely new game started with nothing saved. I started playing April 2017 and the file now said it was modified today (January 2020) and theres nothing in the saved, no cc, nothing is there and I don't know how to get my original game back. I'm also on Windows for reference. Thank you!!
@GucciKat All your user-generated and -downloaded content is saved in the Sims 4 folder that you moved to your desktop, but the game can't read it because the folder isn't in Documents\Electronic Arts anymore. That's fine though—you can put the files inside, or the entire folder, back later. For now though, how does the game run? Please test in a new save with no mods or cc added and let me know. It's more important right now to see whether the crashing is caused by a problem with your saves or cc, or an issue on your computer itself.
If you still get crashing, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
