How to change sims 4 to 64 bit on ea app?

  • I am getting an error message that I cannot play the game without 64 bit when I open sims 4, but my computer can run 64 bit and has 4 gb of ram. I can't find any way to use origin to fix this, and there are no options in the ea app to switch to run the game on 64 bit. Is there any way to fix this?

  • @arieltiffany02  There's no way to switch between 32-bit and 64-bit within the EA App.  What you can do instead is uninstall and reinstall Sims 4.  All your purchases will be available to download as well, for free, in your game library.  Your saves and other user data are in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, and while this folder shouldn't be deleted during the uninstall process, it's still best to make a backup first just to be on the safe side.

However, I'm curious as to the error you're getting and why the game isn't already running in 64-bit.  Try repairing the game: open your game library, hover over the Sims 4 icon, click the three dots, and select Repair.  If that doesn't help, please post a screenshot of the error, and also let me know what antivirus you use, if any.

sorry for the delay.. Also you're correct i am running in 64bit the error message pops up during startup and reads as " Warning You are running the 64 bit game executable on a system that does not meet recommended specifications and may experience game instability or performance issues. We recommend that you switch to the 32 bit executable in orgin...."

It "is" under recommended specifications. Since the 32bit version was discontinued you unfortunately can not downgrade and running from an external drive doesn't help either. If it is possible to upgrade RAM you may be able to run the game on the lowest settings but I can not guarantee it.
