@goddessofbeauty To move Sims 4 itself, as in, the game's program files, to your external drive, you'll need to uninstall and reinstall. The EA App doesn't have a Move Game function like Origin did. This doesn't really need a video explanation: open the App, uninstall Sims 4, then reinstall it, this time selecting a folder on the external as the destination.
For the user data (saves, mods, etc.), the advice to create a symbolic link still works as before.
I would be wary of any video tutorials, as I've seen many of these get unnecessarily complicated, or worse, provide bad instructions that might delete your data. It would be better for you to look over the guide above and ask questions whenever you're not sure what to do.
Do you have any idea why I'm getting the error of:
VC++ runtime package has not installed correctly
The steps to fix it online are origin centred and I can't find redists in my program files.

@Ramrunner73 You can find the VC++ runtimes under Windows Settings > Apps, and uninstall from there. Most of the runtimes can be downloaded here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
The 2022 runtimes replace anything from 2015 or newer, but the 2013 and earlier runtimes are standalone, meaning if you have an app that requires for example the 2010 runtimes, you need the 2010 versions and can't simply rely on the 2022 versions. The other uninstall/reinstall instructions are independent of Origin: remove them through Settings > Apps, download new copies, install, restart, test.
If this doesn't help, please post a screenshot of the error.
