I accidently deleted all my Sims4 files in file explorer

So I accidently deleted the whole Sims4 file in file explorer that comes with downloading the game for the first time, will I still be able to download CC into the game or did I screw my self over?  I went to best buys geek squad but I do not think he understood what I meant, so I thought I would come on to here to see if anyone can give me answers.

  • @KahilaSlytherin  Did you delete the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts, which contains saves and other user data; or the folder that contains the game's program files?  These are two separate folders with distinct purposes.  If the game still launches (and you don't need to reinstall it), then you didn't delete the program files, so you probably deleted the user folder.  In that case, just open Sims 4 again and the folder will be recreated.

In general, it's a good idea to make frequent backups of the user folder once you have saves or other data you wouldn't want to lose.  You can store the backup on an external drive or USB stick, or zip the folder and upload it to a free filehosting service.  Either way, you'll have a spare copy in case the folder gets deleted again for whatever reason, or if you happen to have a corrupt save and want to rever to an earlier version.  You can delete the older backups when you're sure you won't need them.

  • @puzzlezaddict I must have deleted the user file than, because i never had a problem with loading the game back up just CC and mods. But when I seen I deleted a sims 4 file I freaked out, I am not good with the inside of computers and if they have problems, I'm just decent with using them. So thank you very much!!
