Was that in 2023? I see the latest response was ‘October’. I just experienced this bug for the first time. I’m not sure if EA has fixed it before or whether this is just an old ignored bug. I’m pretty sure my EA app updated right before I started to play.
Last night I created a completely new save to test out building in the For Rent expansion. I have a second larger screen that is usually turned off unless I want to share what I am building with people irl. This usually turns on / off and mirrors without affecting the game whatsoever. My screen did not go white immediately, but the game completely stopped responding to my mouse clicks. I could hit escape and bring up the menu but I could not save without my mouse. This is when I alt tabbed in an attempt to ‘jumpstart’ the window considering the game was not completely ‘frozen’. I didn’t have other apps open so I windows+d to collapse the screen which immediately turned white. I have not been able to restore the image and I am about to quit. I hadn’t saved at all and shared right before I completed the finishing details so it is definitely a loss of several hours.
I don’t mind that much but it is annoying if a known issue has returned. It is clear that my issue is a little different since it was initially triggered by enabling an extra monitor mid game. This specific error was only triggered once I used window+D. I left it alone all night to be sure it was not coming back. I just ended it with task manager. All of my resource usage was low. The application was open and ‘working’ but I was completely unable to interact with it.
I just updated all my drivers last month for sims so even if they are out of date they can’t be by much.
Edit: I am definitely not using reshade. I have a few mods but my largest is mccc to customize sim lifespan.
Edit 2: Updating drivers again just in case although I am pretty sure I already had the latest January amd release
@Pi_Amazingness The white screen isn't a Known Issue so much as a very common symptom of a number of different problems, including but not limited to a bad mod and an outdated graphics driver. Aside from the mod-related occurrences, which typically happen when the game is first launched or when a new world is supposed to load, this issue needs individual troubleshooting. For example, the graphics driver might be new but corrupt, or some other program could be conflicting with Sims 4. So I wouldn't say that this is a problem that has resurfaced, and it's definitely not a bug since the cause is never the game itself.
Anyway, if you'd like help, please post a dxdiag.

Please also let me know whether it helps to play in windowed mode rather than fullscreen.
