I cannot place objects in Build/Buy

Hi,

Since the update with the new bunkbeds, I can't do anything in build/buy... Not entirely true, I can move objects that were previously placed and build walls if I press B but can't put any wallpaper on them. I can't place any new objects, I can't change the colour of already placed objects... I tried taking out my mods that mess with the script of the game (like MC Command Center, etc.) but t didn't change anything...

I don't know what else to do...

Can someone help please?

Hey! Today I've downloaded Sims4 Island living. Until today everything went well, there was no bugs or any other problems. But as long as I downloaded the pack I've got some problems. One of them is really disturbing, in the build mode I can't place any objects on the household, only the ones from the rooms. What should I do to fix it?

There's a couple of things you can try but it depends on the platform you are playing on as these only work on PC or Mac.  Won't work for the consoles other than restarting.   I play on PC but there are other helpers here that do play on consoles and Macs so it would be helpful to know what system you play on.

So you can try a restart.  Sometimes, things go a little wonky when you install a pack and start the game the first time afterwards.  And if you use mods or cc, you'll usually have to do that anyway so you can turn on your mods and cc as patches and new packs usually turn them off automatically.

Another thing you can try is to delete the localthumbcache file.  You have to have the game shut down when you do that so you'll need to restart anyway.  No worries with that as the game will create a new one when you next start it up.  And that is a good thing to do if you use cc and have recently added new stuff or taken some out.  All that file does is hold the thumbnails that you see in the game mostly, so you might see that it takes a little time for them to regenerate.

If you use cc though, you might have something that doesn't get along with something in the new pack so you can try starting a new game in a separate The Sims 4 folder without any mods or cc in.  If everything works ok, then that might be what is causing you the problem.  Then you'll have to go through your cc to find what is causing the problem.    In case you don't already know how to start a new game in a separate folder, just move the The Sims 4 folder to your desktop or another folder other than the Electronic Arts folder.  And you might want to try a new game anyway, even if you don't use cc or mods just to make sure that it isn't something else in your main save that is causing the issue.

So I don’t know if i’m the only one with is problem but when i go into build mode it won’t let me buy/place down anything even tho they have simolens available. But when i do into household inventory i could place down items. I have already tried to repair my game multiple times already.

When you go into build mode to place for example a bed, you click on the bed and then you usually drag the bed out on the floor but with the bug you can only click on the bed but not drag it out.
