I can't play my game and I don't know how to fix it

Question

So recently I received a notification on my computer when I tried opening app my Sims 4 game. It said something along the lines of "do you allow the application to make changes to your computer?" and I meant to press yes since I knew it was talking about the Sims, but I accidentally pressed no. Once I did that and tried to open up the game a notification keeps popping up saying "Unable to start: The Sims4 is already running." and following that notification would be a bunch of letters and numbers. I don't know how to fix this issue. I have tried uninstalling the game and origin and every time I do that and try to open up the game again it goes straight to that notification. How do I get rid of this notification and be able to play my game again? I don't want to lose all the expansion packs I have bought cause I spent hundreds of dollars on these expansion packs and I don't want this to remove them all.&nbsp;

Your problem should be have the title "The Sims4 is already running", @emma_mcdonnell7e.

Check if the games isn't running. Open the Taskmanager and check for "TS4_x64.exe" and "TS4.exe". Close any of them when found in the list.

Rename your "The Sims 4" folder in your "Documents\Electronic Arts\" folder
Clear the cache from Origin. How to do this, see here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
Repair The Sims through the Origin client, right click in your gamelibrary and choose the "Repair" option.

Start the Origin client and The Sims 4 as Administrator.

Make you're not running any other application that can prevent the Origin client and The Sims 4 from running. This means also any security software.

Create a new Administrator account in Windows 10, then login with that and try again.

@emma_mcdonnell7e&nbsp; I've moved your post to the Sims 4 PC tech section.

First of all, your content is owned by your Origin account, not your computer.&nbsp; So even if you did uninstall, you wouldn't have to pay to reinstall your packs.

For the error, sign into Origin, then try manually launching Sims 4 as an admin, as in, right-click on the TS4_x64.exe (or a shortcut on your desktop, if you have it) and select "Run as administrator."&nbsp; If you don't have a shortcut, you'll find the .exe along this file path:

Program files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

If that doesn't help, try either disabling Windows 10's Controlled Folder Access or setting exceptions for TS4_x64.exe, TS4.exe, and Origin.exe.
