I can't play the game!

So I downloaded Origin to get Sims 4 and installed it, all that, but now when I try to open the game it shows a big white screen and then disappears as nothing happened. Why is it not letting me open the game? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it took forever and did nothing. I don't know what's wrong. Is there a way I can download and play Sims 4 without Origin? Please help.
