I can't update Sims 4 - PLEASE HELP!!!

I had the same issue I know you said you reinstalled it but did you uninstall it in control panel first? (I've reinstalled it without uninstalling it before) I did this then reinstalled origin again and it updated automatically. Make sure your game updates automatically in settlings. I'm sorry if this doesn't work.

I uninstalled it in the control panel and installed it again on the site. And I have the update thing ticked.

Did you try deleting Origin cache files: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/delete-origin-cache-files/ ?

I'm not sure which files to delete? http://prntscr.com/53mkmw That box at the bottom. I'm guessing it shows it? But I can't see it so I went to the article, followed the steps and ticked the show folders thingy and it didn't change anything. :/

help ☹️ I have done more research and everything else failed. I have not yet cleared my origin cache, as I do not know which files to keep and which to delete as you can see from my previous post.

Same problem here. ☹️ I only get the second error, though. I chatted with EA costumer support for 3 hours today and talked to 3 different people but nothing seems to work.

They suggested the following things (which didn't work for me):

- Run Origin AND Sims 4 as admin

- Temporarily disable your firewall/antivirus

- Run in compatibility mode XP service pack 3

- Repair the game

- Change UAC settings to never notify

- Change Internet Explorer settings to standard (even if you don't use it, apparently Origin connects through IE, maybe that is why it fails...)

- Clear caches

The last thing they suggested was to boot my PC in safe mode with network and try it that way. I decided that this was getting a bit too complicated for me.

After this I reinstalled Origin, and even that didn't work. I wouldn't even mind if I lost all my saves, but I can't do anything now.

If anyone has a solution, or if anyone is brave enough to try the safe mode and it works, please let me know. Origin is the bad guy here, because it doesn't update another game I own either. So it's not Sims!

Tried all of them except the Origin clean cache files thingy. I don't know which files inside the folder to delete. But this is so annoying! ☹️((((((( PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!

These are the instructions I got:

Origin folder - Found in C:\ProgramData\
Origin folder - Found in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\
Origin folder - Found in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\

So the entire 3 folders. It didn't do anything in my case though...

everything in all 3 folders?! I took away everything from the 1st one but then when I opened Origin there was some error. It opened but something popped us saying "filename.exe is missing" or something like that.
