I get a flickering screen when I switch resolution to 3840 X 2160

When I try and switch The Sims 4 resolution to 3840 x 2160 (4k) I get a flickering screen between white and black with music still playing and mouse still seen. after about 30 seconds it reverts back...

Same problem!

GTX Titan, 16GB Memory and I7 3770k. Display Samsung 590D
