I had problems with sims4 not loading, and wouldn't repair

so i uninstalled and reinstalled, then it insisted i needed legacy version

now , not only will it only load legacy, but in legacy, it won't open expansion packs, saying i need to be online, and it won't respond when i hit connect. Very frustrated. My expansion packs are through steam

I'm using the EA app, but have reinstalled origin and run repair as well as cleared cache

  • @sppnz  Is your game currently installed through Steam, or the EA App, or Origin?  Which packs are not showing up in-game, and where did you buy them?

Thanks, will try for refund from steam, since I've tried everything else to make it work

When I try to start it in steam, first it plays a video of the content, then when I try play now, it tries to open through ea app, which has been coming up with an error stating there's an error on their end, try a little later. I've now requested a refund with steam. I have learned my lesson when it comes to trying to get a bundle cheaper

Before I make more mistakes or  try purchasing the packs through origin, should I uninstall steam? I had a look in game, and the packs I want and  already purchased through steam are still currently showing as owned. Will that causes issues when I try to purchase through origin? or should I not uninstall steam until/unless refund comes through?

    thanks in advance

they have denied refund, saying I've owned and played the game for too long, when in reality, I got to play it once for maybe 15 minutes . I can't find where I can protest decision

The Sims™ 4 Get To Work - Playtime: 19 hours 35 minutes. I probably spent that long TRYING to play

After everything I tried didn't work, I uninstalled steam, restarted computer and gave in and purchased on origin. I will never buy ea products on steam again, lesson learned. If I'd known that was all it took, I would have had solution in time for a steam refund.

I hope my experience helps someone else
