I have $14,000+ and can't buy anything in build mode?

When I go into build mode for my house and try to buy anything other than the $0 items, it says I have insufficient funds even though I have $14,000+. I should probably also mention that in the build...

I haven't tried resetting my files, but I just tried opening up a different save file and I am not having this problem on that save file.

Which mods did you have before ? There's a few mods that seem to corrupt save games if you don't take them out before a new update.
