I want to know if this laptop will be able to run all of the Sims 4 games.

Can someone please help me? I want to buy a laptop that will be able to run all of the Sims 4 games. I have found this Lenovo laptop that is in my price range, but I  cannot find a clear answer online. I want to be sure before I buy it.

  • @Dee_1994076  The processor in the laptop you've linked isn't as strong as the one in the laptop I linked, and the graphics chip is also slower.  So I don't think it's as good an option.  The one I linked says in its product description that it supports up to 16 GB RAM, and I found a couple other sites that say the same, so I'm reasonably sure it's accurate.

When I searched earlier, I didn't see a better option for under R 6,000, but I only checked three sites.  If you'd like me to look for more options, let me know your preferred budget, and I'll do another search.

There are unfortunately not a lot of good options in your price range.  In particular, it looks like most of them come with only 4 GB RAM, which isn't really enough to play Sims 4 with most packs installed.  On the other hand, the laptop you've linked looks like it would support a memory upgrade, and RAM is cheap these days.  That wouldn't make the processor any stronger or its graphics chip any faster, but it would still help overall.  So it's a viable alternative to paying more for a laptop that comes with 8 GB installed.  You could ask your local computer stores for price quotes, or just order the extra RAM and install it yourself.

To be clear, the processor and its graphics chip are still quite weak for Sims 4, and even with more RAM, the game still might not run very well even on low settings.  But there are limits to what you can get for around R 5,000.

If you want to see another option though, this one is a bit better:

It still has only 4 GB RAM, which is upgradable, but its processor is stronger and much newer, and its graphics chip is faster as well.

Thanks a lot. You have been a big help. I think I  will get that one you linked and just upgrade the RAM.

    You really are a hero.
