Game version (updated 18/09 - I tried getting the version code, but in my GameVersion.txt it only says: " ⸱〱⸹㠱⸵〱〳" - I tried deleting it and restarting the game but it's the same again)

DxDiag attached
Hi! So, a couple of days ago I started building a minicastle with Castle Estate pack in Cottage Living world and I haven't been able to access the game since. Every time I try to load the same game it goes into an infinite loading screen. It's like it has corrupted the game. It doesn't happen when I open other games, unless I go into Cottage Living world, then it crashes again and that game gets corrupted too.
The game itself had minimum CC and the build I made was literally only 4 walls and some windows/doors, all from Castle Estate, nothing else whatsoever (like no terrain paints nor plants nor anything). The lot had a couple of traits that come with the lot by default, nothing I selected (I think refreshing winds or something similar? - Sorry, my first language is Spanish, so not sure how that's called in English) and was a tiny house type of lot. It got exactly 100 squares built, so tier 3 if that helps at all.
This is the second time this has happened in a very similar fashion (I built something in Henford-on-Bagley and I was never able to resume that game anymore). In that case I assumed it was because I had been using the same family for years and maybe had too much info? I also used a lot of CC and the build that crashed the game had a lot of debug objects, so I salvaged what I could in the library with a previous version of the family, and created a new game deleting the old one.
I'm guessing that was not the problem since I got this issue again with a game that's only a couple months old?
I've tried taking out mods too with this last one and it still won't work. I also repaired the game a couple of times from EA launcher. Any ideas what might have happened? Are Castle Estate and Cottage Living not compatible somehow?
Select GeForce, 20 series, 2060, Windows 11, and download the first driver listed. Run it as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator." Choose the Custom (not Express) install method, and check the box to perform a clean install. Restart your computer afterwards and before trying to play.
Additionally, when you say the game crashes when entering the Cottage Living world, do you mean if you view it in Manage Worlds, or if you try to load a specific lot? Does this happen on new saves too? Does it make a difference if you load a lot in Build mode rather than live mode?
Notepad doesn't correctly read the GameVersion.txt file, at least not in Windows 11. You can see your game version at the Main Menu.
Thank you for your answer @puzzlezaddict!! I checked and my game version is 1.109.185.1030 DX11
I followed your instructions about the drivers, and it helped a little bit, but didn't fully solve the issue. Now I can load the broken game (which takes me to Sulani, where my sims live) but when I try to enter live mode it crashes again. (Now it does allow me to enter build mode without crashing and I can also check the initial lot that I thought caused the issue from build mode and Manage Worlds. It didn't have any lot traits at all apparently).
The infinite loading screen also means I'm not able to exit the Sims 4 at all nor access task admin or anything, so the only way I have found to exit to gain access to my computer again is turning off the computer or restarting. It doesn't work if I block the computer nor if I restart it, it goes back to the infinite screen I tried to leave behind.
I tested a couple of things and now my game crashes when:
I try to load the family of the broken game in live mode
I put my CC back in the game and try to load the broken save (if I have CC in, I can't load the game at all, it crashes when loading the save from the main menu)
It doesn't crash when:
Loading the family's lot in build mode (without CC)
Entering Cottage Living world from any other family from other saves nor from Manage Worlds menu
Moving other families from other games to Cottage Living world
Entering the lot that I thought was causing the crash in build mode
Building with Castle Estate in Cottage Living world in other saves nor in the original broken game from build mode
@xice_butterflyx Please delete all lastexception files in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, then try to load the main household again, and post the new LE you get, if you get one. You can copy and paste it into a reply (please use a spoiler), or create a .rar file, or create a .txt file, but in that case, delete the first line of text before trying to attach it to a reply, or this site will reject it.

@xice_butterflyx This lastexception includes the usual Off the Grid-related error. So please make sure that the lot challenge is actually gone. (Load the lot in Build mode to check.) Please also delete this lastexception and upload the new one you get, if you get one at all. It's possible this one includes older data.
@puzzlezaddict I can't load the save at all to change the lot traits, but I always play with the offgrid lot challenge (like in all my builds), is that the problem on its own? Should I not use it to avoid future issues in general if this game can't be restored at all? (I didn't know there was a usual offgrid related error).
That is LE I get now when I try to load the save, since I can't load anything new for that game I guess it makes sense it includes older data?
@puzzlezaddict Thank you, that worked! I tested other saves and only one of the crashes, but it hasn't generated a lastexception file?
The save that crashes doesn't have the offgrid challenge but it does have CC (it's the only one that is causing problems with the CC included, even if other saves also have CC they are opening just fine). Am I correct to assume some of the CC is corrupted then?
For the offgrid issue, should I take it out of all my lots?
I'll also check the offgrid conversation in case there are any further solves!
@xice_butterflyx You're right that the cc is a primary suspect, but it's not the only possible cause of the issue. So remove your Mods folder and see whether you can load that save or lot. You don't need to save your progress overall, but if it works, you may want to save a copy of the lot itself in this no-cc state.
You should take the Off the Grid challenge off any lot you want to play until the problem is fixed. When it is, the bug thread will be updated, so you can check it after each patch, or read the patch notes when they're released.
