Ingredients in Inventory Not Recognized for Simple Living Recipes

After the latest patch, I can no longer use many fruits and other ingredients with the Simple Living lot challenge. Even if I disable the Simple Living lot trait, the issue persists.

For example, I can't make apple nectar even though I have 29 apples in my Sim's inventory. The recipe only requires 3 apples, but the game doesn't recognize them. I've also noticed the same problem with many cooking recipes, where ingredients in my inventory are not being detected.

We've tested this in a different save file, on different lots, and in different worlds, and the same issue occurs every time.

We've also:

  • Repaired the game.
  • Restarted the computer.
  • Confirmed that no mods or custom content are installed.

Has anyone else experienced this issue since the latest patch?

UPDATE:  I tried uninstalling all of my Marketplace kits, repairing the game and now everything works as it should and as it did before. The game recognizes my ingredients. The game even allowed me to reinstall Country kitchen kit without the problem reappearing but as soon as I tried to reinstall anything else from Marketplace the problem came back. Perhaps this is because Country kitchen kit now is only available in Marketplace and not in the EA app, from what I can see.

Thanks for helping me understand the problem, sure hope EA fixes this bug soon so I can use my bought kits...

    FYI, my kits in Marketplace:

    • Everyday clutter
    • Storybook nursery
    • Cozy kitsch
    • Sleek bathroom
    • Grange mudroom
    • Garden to table
    • Country kitchen ("bought" for free)
