is it possible to bypass EA App?

So like a lot of people, I'm having issues downloading Horse Ranch. I've already added my issue to the relevant thread, but this is a slightly separate question.

In my case, at least, I believe the problem to be an EA app issue (again). As you can see from the attached images, the game itself recognises that I own Horse Ranch. The app, however, took my code, but nothing I can do will make it update itself to show that I own the expansion so that I can download it.

I'm sure it's a vain hope, but the ability to DL an .exe file for the expansion would be an excellent workaround until the problematic app decides to work again.

  • @mottle  To answer your question, no, there's no way to bypass the EA App, and no legitimate source for downloading the pack that doesn't involve the App or Steam or Epic.  (As a side note, the pack doesn't have its own .exe; the only excecutable is the one for the base game, TS4_x64.exe.)  The App should show that you own Horse Ranch though.

    Before doing anything else, please clear the EA App's cache and restart your computer.

    Then check Manage add-ons again.  If you still don't see Horse Ranch on the list, and please check the entire list in case the list isn't completely in alphabetical order, go to ea.com, sign in, open Account Settings, then Order History, and check the status of the order.  If it says Processing, that's the issue, and you'll need to cancel the order and try again.

    Thank you for trying! I've already cleared the cache and rebooted, but I just did it again to no avail. I've checked the whole list again, and it's not there. It obviously won't be in my order history because I didn't buy it through the app/EA. My key was accepted, and the game says I own it. The app doesn't list it, so I can't DL it. Me and many others by the look of this forum. 🙂

    I'm currently talking with someone at EA Help. If it ever gets fixed, I'll report back here.
