Is there a way to clear a sims inventory in Sims 4?/Bug with plantsim stump

The plantsim challenge is going on, and so I had a plantsim stump in yard and starting collecting the beans, etc. I had a sim put the stump in their inventory so that the household could move, and the moving process was fine. However now, whenever I try to have a sim place the stump, or when I try to click on the beans or stump my game screws up. It will be paused when it should play, and I cannot do any actions nor place any objects or use any commands. The images in the sims inventory will duplicate, and I cannot switch between sims. My game will be fine if I exit the game and return, but as soon as I try to place the stump it glitches again. Is there a way I can clear my sim's inventory so I can try the challenge again? I'm not able to sell the stump or interact with it at all without my game glitching.
