[STEAM] EA app gets stuck on "preparing game" when attempting to load game

I have tried everything form offline mode, deleting user folder (where my saves and stuff are) reinstalling the game, clearing EA and steams cache, doing a "safe boot". using a "local admin windows account"  and pretty much whatever else EA help tells me, my friend who also plays on steam also has the exact same issue? Any ideas form the community? ps: Anti virus is off, it worked fine yesterday

@puzzlezaddict Hey! just to give you an update I managed to fix the issue by factory resetting the PC, turns out the EA app and the sims 4 has a fit if you mess with the date/time settings and requires you to factory reset to fix, thanks for all your help! and all you do for this game.

@puzzlezaddictIt was already off, it is still not working, thanks for the idea though. Problem is the EA app seems to be spam launching the sims 4 (launching and then immediately launching again causing it not to load

@gooochyeee  Try uninstalling the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine), and restart your computer before reinstalling it.  Run both Steam and the EA App as an admin: right-click each desktop shortcut and select "Run as administrator"; and make sure the EA App is fully loaded before trying to launch the game.  If your game library isn't loading, that's a separate known issue right now that may also prevent games from loading properly.

Please also confirm that your Steam and EA accounts are still properly linked.  Open any EA site, for example ea.com, in a private browser window, and try to login with your Steam credentials.  If you land in the correct EA account, everything is working on that side.  If anything else happens, let me know what you see.

@puzzlezaddict I have the exact same problem as @gooochyeee, but I haven't changed any date or time settings like, I only changed the language of the EA app from English to German. Do you think this could have something to do with it? And is there another way to fix it other than factory resetting the PC?

@JewelWing  You absolutely should not need to factory reset the PC.  It should be possible to find the issue without nearly such a drastic measure.

If you switch the EA App back to English, does it help?  What language is Sims 4 installed in, and did you change that too?  And what country are you in?

I have the same problem now. Last week still can play nfs unbound. Already tried uninstall using revo. Login using EAlauncher with steam. Play games using ea desktop. Still have the same problem stuck on preapraing games and close.

  • @D3Angel  Are you having an issue with Sims 4?  This is the Sims 4 PC tech forum, and most of us here know very little about most other EA games.  So if you need help with a different game, please post in that game's forum, or post in the EA App forum for generic download/install help.
