Island Living World Not Loading

Hello. I recently bought the Island Living pack and none of the lots in that world are loading properly. I've already tried reaching out multiple times to EA, uninstalling, taking mods/cc out to see if I had any that caused this issue, and repairing the game. I'm not sure what to do anymore and I can't get a refund, I've already been told it's not possible for some reason.

@brooklynbistro  Again, this is not about deleting and reinstalling Island Living.  Please follow the guide I linked to the letter and see what happens.  You need to save your progress without IL present, then reload that save.

On a Mac, the Delta folder is inside the Sims 4.app.  Right-click the Sims 4 icon and select Show Package Contents to see its contents.  But again, this is likely irrelevant to the question at hand.

  • @tinnyorbit  Do the lots load properly in a new save, one that has never been exposed to mods or custom content?  Please let me know either way.

Nope. I've already tried taking my mods/cc out to see if that was the issue. I also tried repairing the game and restarting my PC. I was able to get it to work once but it only lasted a few minutes. It's like the pack wants to work but doesn't at the same time.

@tinnyorbit  Please go into the game's program files, here by default:

    C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4

    or

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4

and delete the EP07 folder (Island Living was the seventh expansion released).  Then open the Delta folder and delete the EP07 folder there too; this is patch data, not the actual pack.  Repair the game: open your EA App game library, click Sims 4, and select Manage > Repair.  Download IL again and test in a new save, still with no mods or cc present.

In order to mess with the game's program files, you'll need to close the EA App and also kill the EABackgroundService in the Task Manager if it's running.

  • Hi! I know you posted this in January but I just downloaded Island Living yesterday and I can't get any of the lots to load, it's basically impossible for me to play. I get that this question was posted in the PC forum but I'm on a Mac - I tried to follow your instructions and I didn't find a "Delta' folder, that might be a PC thing? Anyone been successful in getting the game to work?

@brooklynbistro  The Delta folder exists in macOS too, but it's not easy to find.  Regardless, the main question here is what you mean when you say you can't get your lots to load.  If you mean no lots are visible or selectable, Method 1 on this page should help, regardless of whether you have two copies of the world:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2022/06/world-appears-twice-on-world-map/

This will remove all Island Living-related content from your save, but that shouldn't matter much since you only just bought the pack.  Once the issue is fixed, you can start adding back the IL content you want to use.

If you have a different issue that doesn't respond to the workaround, please describe it in more detail, and include a screenshot or two if you think it would be helpful.  It would also be useful to know whether a new save is affected.

  • Hi!! @puzzlezaddict thank you so much for replying and for helping me. So I have un-downloaded IL and repaired the game and then re-downloaded it twice, and that hasn't worked. I saw that Sims 4 was recently updated so I wonder if that's the reason? I've also made sure that I have enough storage to load the entire pack and I definitely do. I've attached a screenshot of what I'm seeing when I click into Sulani from my Worlds. When I also search for Sims 4 Delta on my Mac it doesn't come up with anything. I'm so frustrated bc the game packs are really expensive and I submitted a ticket with EA and they haven't even responded.
