Lagging issue
Hi so my sims game is having issues with lag and it was running fine until earlier today but I can't seem to fix it, usually I click the button to access saving etc. but this didn't work so I tried l...
@cuddlyduckie546 Please test with no mods, and in a new save in one of the base game worlds with no mods, just for comparison's sake.
Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@cuddlyduckie546 Okay, let's keep it simple. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.
If you still run into lag, follow the instructions I posted earlier to run a dxdiag. Then attach it to a reply in this thread. Use Reply (not Quick Reply) and click the Browse button below the text field where you write the reply.
So I did what you said and it runs smoothly with no lag at all, she could move easily and cook, I just exited the game since it seems to be running smoothly so it must be a mod. Here is the DxDiag thingy. Also after this please let me know I can re-add my original save file.
@cuddlyduckie546 Yes, please copy (right-click and Copy, then right-click and Paste; don't just drag and drop) your save to the new Sims 4 folder. But don't add anything else yet, and don't change any in-game settings. If the save lags, try moving the household to a different lot in one of the base game worlds and let me know whether it helps. Since you're using a copy of your save and not the original, you don't need to worry about messing up your progress.
If the save still runs smoothly in the new Sims 4 folder, you can start adding your mods and other content, and changing your graphics settings if you want. Add a little at a time and keep testing so you know right away if you've reintroduced the problem.
