Lagging issue

Hi so my sims game is having issues with lag and it was running fine until earlier today but I can't seem to fix it, usually I click the button to access saving etc. but this didn't work so I tried lowering the graphics to the lowest setting, laptop mode, clearing the EA app cache but I cannot seem to fix it. My game was running fine on Sunday and yesterday so I am not sure why it's lagging all of a sudden. I even uninstalled some apps thinking it was a storage space issue.
